LCOY is an event under the umbrella of YOUNGO, the official youth constituency of UNFCCC serving as an antecedent of the Conference of Youth (COY) organized at national and sub-national levels. It aims to be a space to boost youth climate action locally and create an input for the international UNFCCC Conference of Youth.
The United Youth Initiative for Africa and Green Africa Youth Organization will host an LCOY as part of the global movement of youth climate conferences in the run-up to COY17 and COP27. LCOY Ghana will be the biggest ever gathering of youth climate groups and relevant stakeholders, exceeding last year’s convergence, to collaborate and enhance Ghana’s National Youth Climate Statement (NYCS) by exploring other climate themes and problems that were not featured in 2021 and incorporated into the Global Youth statement.
This year’s conference will yet again be a connecting link between stakeholders, organizations, institutions including the government, and individuals that would typically not work with each other to contribute as an inter-agency effort to accelerate Ghana's commitment and Nationally Determined Contributions
Let's change the world together as we unify for a Green Future.
